Coca-Cola #ForTheDream Sweepstakes + Giveaway
This is part of a sponsored campaign with DiMe Media and Coca-Cola. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
In just a few short weeks, I will be headed off to NYU (New York University) and I have never been so excited, or so prepared to face the future! I could say I’m scared or nervous, but really, I am just so ready to leap into the next chapter of my life, embracing these feelings of nervousness with wide open arms. These past 4 years of high school volunteering, traveling, and meeting new people have prepared me for what’s ahead.
Throughout high school I was faced with the realization that these goals, of going to college, would be quite pricey without some help, maybe even unreachable. My parents would work day in and day out telling me “No te preocupes por el dinero, irás a la universidad de tus sueños”.
(Translation: “Don’t worry about the cost, you will go to the college of your dreams”)
Although, I knew their devotion to my education was of utmost priority, I did not want to burden them with the idea of paying $50,000+ a year for college. I made a pact and promised not only to my parents but myself, that they would never have to pay my college education. With my resilience I was able to accomplish my goal. Happy to scream out to the world “I AM GOING TO COLLEGE FOR FREE!” Bring out the Mariachis and BBQ because it’s time to rejoice in the power of education!

Through my journey, I was introduced to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). Applied to their college information camp called the “Youth Leadership Institute” (YLI) and had the time of my life! Not only did I learn more about FAFSA and scholarships, but also connected with Hispanic students like myself facing similar issues. Applying all these resources learned at YLI eventually led me to success! I won the Gates Millennium scholarship through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and so many other scholarships. Thanks to HSF my dreams became a reality helping me focus solely on my education without the fear of having to pay off student loans.
This year, Coca-Cola is donating $100,000 to the amazing Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Coca-Cola being a big supported of diversity is helping HSF reach out to more Hispanic students all over the nation about their education. Providing opportunities for students to reach their goals and become leaders in their communities.
In addition to their generous donations, Coca-Cola is also donating $1 for every social media post using the hashtag #ForTheDream, up to $10,000. A lot of money for future generations of Hispanic leaders and scholars!
Not only is Coca-Cola doing all these amazing acts of kindness in the name of education, but they are also doing a #ForTheDream sweepstakes!
